SHANA
Instructor/Choreogapher
Shana is 24 years old from La Habra, California. She began dancing at the age of three and danced competitively at Hart Academy of Dance. Shana received many awards, scholarships, and recognitions while competing with Hart and was asked to join the dance company Team Rave LA, which she was a part of for four years. While dancing at Hart, she attended Mater Dei High School and was a part of their national championship winning Varsity Song Team for four years. She then continued her education at San Diego State University and was a member of their national championship winning dance team for five years and captain for three years. She received her degree in Kinesiology, with an emphasis in pre-physical therapy. Shana plans to potentially use her degree to become a Dance Therapist and a Choreographer. While in college, Shana was a staff member for the Universal Dance Association (UDA) for two years, in which she traveled across the nation as an instructor at high school dance team camps. She now is an assistant choreographer for Tribe 99 Choreography: Choreo-Connect, where she choreographs around the U.S. for high school and college dance teams, traveling to places such as Alaska, Nebraska, Nevada, and Illinois. Shana has also worked with local teams, such as the Mater Dei Song Team, La Serna Song Team, Santa Margarita Song Team, and Bishop Alemany Dance Team. She has been dancing for 21 years and her favorite styles include jazz, contemporary, and hip-hop. Shana absolutely loves teaching dance and working with kids, especially at her home studio. Shana’s relationship with God started when her parents introduced faith to her at a very young age. She has grown up with a relationship with God and now that she is older, her relationship has deepened with Christ. On occasion, Shana is able to combine her passion for dance and her love for God through dancing at church. She loves that she is able to worship God through the gift he gave her. Her two favorite bible verses are Psalms 46:5, “God is within her, she will not fall” and Psalm 46:10, “Be Still and know that I am God.” Shana is looking forward to pushing her students to their full potential and sharing her dance passion with them.
